Sunday Prayers

Jesus, you turned death into life, turned defeat into victory. Grant that with your help we may raise our expectations and achieve what is yet impossible. Amen. (A New Zealand Prayer Book, Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost)

O Lord, you have created us to do good works and have empowered us and equipped us to do far more than we can imagine. May we not shrink back due to fear, pride or selfishness from the things that you have prepared for us to do. Help us to trust you so as to renew our courage and strength to walk in your ways and to accomplish your will to the glory of your name. Amen. (My Prayer)

Sunday Prayers

Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we are to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve. Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merit of your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Lutheran Book of Worship, Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost)

O benevolent and merciful God, often we reluctantly ask of you because our faith and understanding of you is small. We do not always recognize your magnificent goodness and willingness to lavish us with your loving kindness. Help us to know that you are always for us and with us ready to lift us up and bestow upon us the riches of your glory. Help us to open our hearts and lives to receive from you all the divine blessings of Jesus’ redemptive life, death and resurrection. Amen. (My Prayer)

Sunday Prayers

Let your continual mercy, O Lord, cleanse and defend your Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without your help, protect and govern it always by your goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen. (ACNA Book of Common Prayer 2019, Sunday Collect, Proper 16)

O God, draw your Church to gaze upon your holiness and majesty, so that it may worship you with humble and awe-struck hearts. Help your Church to lean into your loving embrace and depend upon you for all its needs. May your Church walk in your ways as people of light, life and love declaring your utmost and glorious redemption through Jesus Christ. Fill your Church, O Lord, with hope and desire as it awaits your return and the final consummation of all things. Come, Lord Jesus! Amen. (My Prayer)
